New Maintenance Alliance Formed

Introducing Synaqua

Synaqua is an Alliance of three highly respected and successful companies: Process Engineering Technologies (PET), URS and Agility.
PET was established in 1996 through the alliance of four individual engineering organisations with a common goal of providing customers with a single source multi-disciplined engineering and maintenance service. This alliance provides comprehensive maintenance services to major corporations such as Sydney Water Corporation.

In 2000 PET launched its Projects Division. The company was experiencing unexpected growth and it was clear that PET required additional resources to provide detailed design engineering and project management. Based on the success of the original partnership structure, PET sought a new organisation to join their alliance.

URS is a multinational engineering consultancy. It brings to our group business systems, design engineering and project management skills. PET and URS collaborated on several successful turn key projects, and as the relationship grew it was clear that further opportunities existed for PET and URS to work together.

The alliance further recognised that some additional skills could complement their own, and offer added value to their existing and potential clients.

Agility is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Australian Gas Light Company (AGL), employing over 1,100 people across Australia, providing total infrastructure solutions to the energy and utility industries. Agility expressed interest in joining the PET/URS partnership to create a unique offering to the industrial maintenance market.

The Synaqua Alliance was born.
